Conclusion of the EASN Conference: Gianluca Corraro (CIRA) comments on the URClearED participation

On Friday, September 3rd, the EASN Conference came to an end, and it has been a pleasure and honour to participate and be able to present the URClearED project to the public.

We discussed about Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems in a very interesting SESAR Joint Undertaking joint session together with other similar European research projects: INVIRCAT, SAFELAND, PJ13, CORUS-XUAM.

Here is the recent comment by Gianluca Corraro from CIRA – who chaired the URClearED presentation – after the Conference:

“Even this year the EASN conference has been held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Anyway, in spite of this, its importance as one of the major European dissemination events has been clear due to the vast number of works and achievements presented in the frame of research projects of the aviation and space field.

In this framework, a SESAR JU joint session has been held among exploratory, industrial and demonstration projects addressing different aspects related to the integration of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) within the existing civil airspaces. In this session, an overview of the URClearED project, its main challenges for the integration of RPAS in the airspaces D-G together with a brief description of the results achieved during the on-going activities, have been presented.

At the end of the presentations, a very fruitful discussion has been set on the different aspects characterizing the involved projects, also highlighting their commonalities in order to create synergies in the next activities through the sharing of information and results reached”.

On behalf of the whole URClearED Consortium, we want to deeply thank all the participants who joined us!

Last but not least, if you do not follow us yet, join our community to stay updated on the next upcoming events.

We look forward to meeting you soon!
